  • Bad News for ToyoDIY.com

I don't know if anyone else has noticed yet, but ToyoDIY.com has had to remove the parts diagrams from their site after being pressured by Toyota Motor Sales. Now the site is half as useful as it was, at least to me. They say they'll post alternative EPC sites for a couple hours everyday, but who knows when that is. Does anyone know of any of these alternative sites? Or can someone help me figure out how to use the disc version EPC that I have? I installed it and tried to follow the wierd copying to root folder instructions, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I'm not that good with Windows.

There are 2 copies of the EPC that I've found online, and I do remember that the DVD version is way easier to use than the CD one. other than that, it's been far too long since I installed it, so I can't be of much help.

Serious bummer about ToyoDIY.. that was an epic site, imo.

That sucks. I just had to repair the alternator that I "made" 4 years ago for my 3L Tacoma, and I really needed to compare the wiring diagrams between the '96 USA Tacoma and the JDM 3L Hilux. If I hadn't been able to, it would have meant I had to unwrap the wiring harness and write up my own schematic diagram! Luckily, I had printed out the entire wiring layout and schematic for the Tacoma when I built the truck.

This sucks, I've been using ToyoDIY to get the part numbers for the problems I need fixed on my Hilux.

Not as user-friendly but better than nothing. And it gives part numbers.

This is crap! I'm sure ticked. This sounds like something a north american company would do. Screw their loyal customers anyway. It would be one thing if Toyota had a good site themselves like many agricultural machinery websites do but I haven't found it yet.

Now I have to buy a parts catalog with diagrams or something.

                  buy?

I won't tell you what to do with it, or how to find out, but there are "toyota EPC" torrent files out there. and they work.

Dang thing has NEVER worked for me, and I've downloaded it maybe three different times on various hard drives. One bit torrent feed took over 24 hours! For nothing.

I must be an idiot. Getting old does that to you.

                          That EPC app is horrible....

BTW... I'm not gonna mention any more details in accordance with the rules, but there is a kinda limited access thru here.

Bit of an update on this problem which I found on IH8MUD.com, so what you have to do is find the vehicle that you want parts for and then enter the URL into this site http://www.firewallfilter.com/ and then the diagrams will show.
