Very cool setup...

Are there any differences between running a KZ185 vs a 130 on WVO? As I understand it, the engines are the same in every way except the oil pan, right?

Not that I can see. The differences are very subtle and mostly aesthetic. -Todd

I'd really like to do this.....or biodiesel. I'm just a bit concerned about it's toll on the injection pump. Have you found these to be good pumps? What do you do if you find one bites the dust?

These pumps are built by Denso and are excellent with WVO and biodiesel. I have several customers with over 60k running on WVO with zero issues. As long as the systems are setup correctly, they'll work great. -Todd

I was in a parking lot this evening and some dude in a later '90s Ford F250 came tooling in. Idle sounded weird, like all the cylinders were firing at once. Bloop-bloop-bloop... then he'd stab the throttle and it sounded like a really built Big Block Chevy revving instantly to four or five grand then immediately returning to the weird idle. Like a freaking race engine. He did this several times and if he was looking to get attention, he definitely got mine. No question it was a diesel but I wondered what the hell kind of monster was under that hood. I could have listened to that all day. Diesel engines are not ALWAYS slow......

And it's a dang Ford!!!!!

There are built powerstrokes running 10s in the quarter.. I'm not saying all diesel trucks have to be slow. I'm saying they drive like "diesel trucks". Especially the 5spds. Most people know what this means..

Also, the 7.3Ls response to mods and aftermarket support is in a whole different universe as compared to the 1KZ-TE.

Because the video did not show the VO Control unit and "actual" fuel & coolant operating temps I decided to pull the 0-60 video. The video raised more questions than the post intended and my assurances that the engine was not "cold" in 90˚F+ South Texas weather were simply not enough. My focus was the WVO aspect of the run and the performance of the Veg-therm more than engine performance. Again, since the video did not depict the "actual" Veg oil/coolant temps I removed it. So the thread didn't have posts about a video with no video, I also deleted posts pertaining to the video (including my own). If anyone would like a copy of the video, please PM me. -Todd

From what I've heard, IDI systems do much better with WVO.....so that's good news for 1KZers....
