Hello All,
I was wondering if there was a newer replacement for the Hand pump in Toy diesels? (1L-2L) I know bosch makes a nice self contained one for Mercedes Diesels, but I believe the threading is too small for the toyotas. diesel hand primer pump Anyone know? -Ryan |

I never had trouble with the pump in the filter of my 1L, but did have problems with a 1978 Peugeot 504D. The pump itself was over $100, and the complete filter/separator was more than $300 in 1984.
I solved the problem by buying a small hand priming pump. I believe is was by Dahl, and was sold to Oldsmobile diesel owners. You cut the line between the filter and the tank and installed with hose clamps. It was a rubber bulb (like a blood pressure sphygnometer). Cost in 1984 about $10. It was cheap effective fix for the Peugeot, and no technical reason it should work for the 1L as long as the old pump isn't leaking externally. Sorry I don't have more detail, but I'm going back into the memory banks 20 years.
